Capcom is hoping that Street Fighter 5 is able to unite their part of the fighting game community. Yoshinori Ono, who's a corporate officer, and head of their consumer games development division 2, recently spoke about the company's change in approach with the new game.
"In previous titles we'd say 'we're having a tournament' and it's like 'which version? Is it PC, Xbox, PlayStation? Which joystick should I bring? Which frame rate should I practice in?' It was all over the place.
"We wanted to have it be one place to play Street Fighter," said Ono through a translator on GamesRadar.
These were just some of reasons why Capcom made the decision to have SF5 only available on the PS4 and PC, and Ono elaborated further.
He said that Sony provided them with community building support, in addition to technological support and advice.
Ono noted that Sony helped them achieve their goals, giving them an all in one place where the community and everyone else can play together.
Seriously? So nobody wants to make a stick that plays on both systems.....I pull a red card for that load of bu\\s#iT. It's always about the money (or in this case, lack of) for these corporations...It was never about the gamers. If they wanted to...they could. They don't want to....they wont. Capcom decided that there was "no budget" to spend, so go to where the desired amount of money was being offered and in the process as a result, was held to the stipulations, demands and requirements that were put on the table from the sponsor. Period.
They're worried about frame rates?!? Like as if these are average gamers that are asking these questions. If professionals are seriously going to play this game on PC instead of PS4, then they're not true FGC gamers in the first place. There will be no major tournaments using PC's to run SF5. smh. That in itself would be the most ridiculous set up and the most EXPENSIVE tournament to run...so for Ono to even throw this reason for not having it on Xbone but yet have it on PC is kinda silly. Come on people, y'all seen the minimum PC requirements to play SF5 and yet they worried about frame rates from Xbone?!? Again, RED CARD on that load of @$%!
Regarding the sticks.. 3rd parties have been making sticks and mod experts have been making dual sticks for these very issues for decades and Ono is acting like joysticks are going to be one of the additional reasons for literally cutting off hundreds of thousands of potential fans and customers?! phulease..
But PC hackers leaking out all your gamer data during beta phases and probably salivating at the official release for the opportunity to dissect and mod the hell out of this game is the better alternative? Capcom...maybe I was born at night....but it sure wasn't last night. smh
